Intacct to Offer Online Payroll LOS GATOS, Calif., Oct. 10, 2000 (SmartPros) Joining the growing circle of Web-based payroll providers is Intacct, a provider of Web-based accounting services. In an effort to equip businesses with an online integrated payroll and accounting service, Intacct has joined forces with Fort Worth, Texas-based CBS Payroll, a provider of payroll processing and employer services for more than a dozen companies nationwide. The service is expected to be available in the fourth quarter, Intacct said. With the new payroll service, Intacct will lock horns with other online payroll providers such as Margate, Fla.-based Virtual Payroll, at virtualpayroll.com; Ceridian, based in Pine Brook, N.J., maker of Powerpay.com; and San Mateo, Calif.-based NetLedger, a provider of Web-based accounting that also provides online payroll services. Intacct, which is offered via a monthly subscription, is designed for companies that need more than an entry-level PC-based accounting package but want an alternative to complex, IT-intensive client/server solutions.
