Texas CPA Society Focuses on Education, Appoints New Chairman


DALLAS, June 30, 2004 (SmartPros) The Texas CPA Society announced that Ed Polansky was officially elected chairman on June 25 at the organization's annual meeting. The San Antonio certified public accountant will lead the 27,000-member organization for a one-year volunteer term.



During his tenure, Polansky will focus specifically on education-related issues and how education affects TSCPA members, students, and the public. Two top priorities for Polansky will be a statewide financial literacy effort that reaches out to consumers and students as well as a series of virtual town halls that will give TSCPA members the opportunity to weigh in on important professional issues.

Polanksy is managing partner of San Antonio accounting firm Polansky McNutt Perry & Gentry and consults with closely-held businesses, their owners and related parties. He is a former tax partner with Ernst & Young, where he was director of the tax department and the entrepreneurial services department.
