PCAOB Announces Two Staff Departures

Oct. 5, 2006 (SmartPros) The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board announced the departure of two staff members: Paul Schneider, chief administrative officer, and Christi Harlan, public affairs director.

Schneider joined the PCAOB in January 2003 as interim chief administrative officer, taking responsibility for a variety of start-up related activities. He was named chief administrative officer in April 2003. He has informed the board that he intends to leave at the end of October.

"Paul was instrumental in everything from leading the selection of key personnel to head our administrative offices, including information technology, finance, human resources, and facilities management, to managing the budget and design aspects of our benefit plans," said PCAOB Chairman Mark Olson. "We are grateful for all of Paul’s contributions and wish him every success going forward."

Harlan joined the PCAOB from the Securities and Exchange Commission, where she served as public affairs director from January 2002 until April 2003. She said she will seek a new venture in public service. Her departure date was not disclosed.
