Block Offers Tax Course for Potential Tax Pros Aug. 13, 2007 (SmartPros) Recognizing the need for qualified tax professionals, and with plans to hire for the 2007 tax season, H&R Block will offer an introductory tax course to potential tax professionals. The H&R Block Income Tax Course is designed to help students learn about both basic and highly complex tax situations and aims to enhance the student's comfort level with the tax-preparation process. The 11-week course begins in mid-September, includes 66 hours of instruction and generally meets for three hours twice a week. Block offers the course in English as well as a bilingual course in Spanish. Multiple classes are offered. "This course really appeals to a wide-range of people, from those with finance and accounting backgrounds to people just wanting to make sure they're getting all the deductions they can," said Jose L. Castaneda, H&R Block district manager. "Whether you're interested in preparing your own taxes or becoming an H&R Block tax professional, this course offers something for everyone." Enrollment in, or completion of, the course is neither an offer nor a guarantee of employment, the company said. More information is available at www.hrblock.com/taxcourses. In a separate announcement, CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business, announced it will provide H&R Block tax professionals and franchisees nationwide with tax training courses through the CCH Learning Center. CCH has created a customized Web site integrated with Block's internal learning management system that provides 120 online courses. 2007 SmartPros Ltd. All rights reserved. |
