AICPA, U.S. Labor Department Online Resource Helps Small Businesses Understand Retirement Options


Apr. 11, 2008 (SmartPros) The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the U.S. Department of Labor have released "Choosing a Retirement Solution for Your Small Business," an online video that helps small employers and accountants understand the various options for providing a retirement program for employees.



The video portrays real-life experiences of four small employers who operate Simplified Employee Pension (SEP), SIMPLE IRA and 401(k) plans. It demonstrates the ease of setting up a retirement program for small business owners, the tax advantages of sponsoring a retirement plan, and the value for attracting and retaining a quality workforce.

"The key benefit of this video is that it presents the experiences of real employers who deliberate on the best retirement program for their employees," said Adele Brady Bolson, CPA, whose firm serves small businesses and who is a member of the AICPA’s National CPA Financial Literacy Commission, which directs the profession’s 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy effort (www.360financialliteracy.org).
